Current Exhibition: Jan Knipe and David Wissler
During April and May, Nichols Gallery Annex in Barboursville, will be featuring the work of two artists, Jan Knipe of Roanoke, and John David Wissler of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Through her drawings, Jan Knipe explores the tension between the natural and urban environment. Her work has been exhibited widely from the Hackett-Freedman Gallery in SanFrancisco to First Street Gallery in New York. Currently she lives near Roanoke, where she taught at Hollins College from 1987 to 2009.
A 1989 graduate(MFA) of Parsons School of Design in New York, Wissler's plein aire paintings are influenced by the great British and American Landscape painters of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
